About Me
I began my Pilates journey to address poor posture from scoliosis and slouching. During my time working as a cabin crew, the long hours of standing and heavy lifting exacerbated my lower back pain, prompting me to intensify my Pilates training. This remarkable practice improved my posture, made me stronger and increased my confidence.
Teaching Experience and Growth
My Pilates instructing career commenced at Breathe Pilates, one of the few Merrithew licensed training centers in Singapore. There, I had the privilege of working under the guidance of Thicha Srivisal, the lead instructor trainer of STOTT Pilates. After nearly two years, I embarked on a freelance path, teaching at esteemed studios like Pilatique and SmartFit while continuously expanding my knowledge and expertise.
Â
I have now branched out independently. This leap has allowed me to fully embrace my vision – not just as a Pilates instructor, but as a movement instructor as well.
Embracing Classical Pilates
While my training had been rooted in contemporary Pilates, a month-long holiday in Europe introduced me to the world of classical Pilates. To deepen my understanding of the exercises that closely adhered to Joseph Pilates’ original intentions, I immersed myself in seminars and began training under the guidance of Armand Bautista, a seasoned instructor who had received tutelage from Romana Kryzanowska, a direct student of Joseph Pilates.
A Holistic Approach
Through my continued professional growth, I have expanded my expertise to encompass strength and conditioning. I view Pilates as an excellent foundation for functional movement and mobility training. As I progress in my own personal training and career development, I am experiencing firsthand the benefits of including strength training as part of a holistic fitness regimen.
My approach now integrates multiple disciplines, from flexibility and mobility to strength. Each class is tailored to meet the unique fitness goals and needs of my clients, blending the best of contemporary and classical Pilates with evidence-based strength training methods.
I firmly believe that all forms of movement are beneficial. My goal is to empower individuals on their journey towards physical and mental well-being by providing a comprehensive and personalised experience that cultivates strength, flexibility, and holistic wellness.
